"Gray skies, a mucky road, my mom waving and holding her camera. Just one more little hill before crossing the line. I keep moving my feet, I tell myself that stopping just isn’t an option. Brianna reaches out her hand to grab mine, she’s smiling and my eyes fix on the archway. One. Last. Step.
And I breathe. A huge breath of air that takes in 50 miles of adventure and lets out 13 hours of work. There are hugs. A volunteer gives me my finisher’s medal and I struggle to put it on. My hands have swollen so much that they look more like the latex gloves you find at your doctors office, blown up with air, than working fingers. We take pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. Relief, pride, joy, and disbelief. I spent all day out there but it feels like the blink of an eye." -
Months of training, I finished my second 50 mile Ultramarathon! Utah was absolutely stunning. I couldn't be more thankful to my incredible crew for coming out to support me, and my friend @brimib for being the best pacer in the world and being a huge part of this adventure. -
Want to know more about the trials of the run? The snow and the mountain and why we're too crazy to just take the ski lift up? There's lots more in my race report. Link is in my bio!
