Clear Creek Park p3 // Here is a reimagined pedestrian sign for this park. This sign is a double sided: one side shows directions to close-by destinations, while the other side is a directory map of the park. The color of the sign is determined by the particular zone color the sign is placed in. Learn more about this project on my website in my bio! •

In conjunction with Bridwell Art Library's "Design Your Own Buttons" campaign the last couple of weeks, Professor Ying Kit Chan's classes created their own buttons, using their own artwork. The Art Library selected their favorite designs out of so many great original pieces. The first place winner was Sarah Hinkebein, and the finalists are Mackenzie Biehl, Colin Dean, Savannah Sanderson, Claire McMahon, Judy Henry, and Amany Ismail. There were so many amazing designs it was hard to choose the best ones. #HITE #uofl #bridwellartlib #buttons @hiteart #hiteart #hiteartinstitute @pink_firefly_tomato @claireemcm

My heart is so full thinking back on such an amazing day and the past few unforgettable years. I’m so proud of all my peers and I can’t see where the future leads us 👨🏼‍🎨

I’m so thankful to have been a part of this Portfolio Day. Although I was excited to showcase my work and speak to the design community about my passion and process, I found myself more excited when talking about my peers. I attribute so much of growth to my friends who have worked with, critiqued, and comforted me through all of the trial-and-error process that is design. My last four years in the BFA Communication Arts & Design program have tested all of us in many ways, but that’s part of what makes any good designer — how you overcome those challenges and taking joy in the process.
Congratulations to Class of ‘18! Look out, world.
