|| Image from @emergingeye || At 620 feet, Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in Oregon and the second-tallest year-round waterfall in the United States. The dramatic two-tiered falls are fed by underground springs from Larch Mountain, and the flow over the falls varies, usually at its highest during winter and spring. || Image selected by @jeff_bell_photos || Join us in exploring Oregon, wherever you are, and tag your finds to #Oregonexplored || Find us on Twitter @oregon_explored || Find us on Facebook - facebook.com/oregonexplored || #MultnomahFalls#HistoricHighway#TheGorge#Oregon ||
Truly saddened by what is unfolding in a place I hold very dear. More than 10,000 acres of precious land are now ablaze along the Columbia River in Northern Oregon due to incompetent use of fireworks. My sincerest thoughts go out to all of those affected and especially to those who've put so much effort in conserving the beauty that is Mt Hood National Forest.
The fire has grown. It is now dangerously close to Ainsworth park. The east winds are pushing the fire westward. It smells like a campfire at our home in Gresham. Pray for those in the path of the fire. Our beautiful Columbia River Gorge is going up in flames. 😢
