Gestern musste ich die Feigen-Aktion beim Hofer noch ausnutzen. Habe lange überlegt, ob ich denn wirklich unbedingt Feigen brauche...aber jaaaaa, sie sind einfach so gut! Früher konnt ich die gar nicht essen, aber seit etwa 10 Jahren (was für eine lange Zeit 🙈) mag ich sie total gern. Nomnomnom 😍 Trotzdem kommt nichts an meine liebsten Heidelbeeren ran 😋
Ist bei euch heute auch so schönes Wetter? Blauer Himmel! Es geht zwar der Wind und ich sitz den ganzen Tag im Büro...aber immerhin hab ich einen schönen Ausblick. Darf man ja auch nicht unterschätzen, denn bei schlechtem Wetter wird man so schnell müde. Also ich zumindest 😂

I think I actually love salad. When I don't get enough veggies, my body is unhappy. I cooked this Swai fillet in my air fryer, and steamed the onions rather than sautéing them, to save fat macros of course. I used 1TBSP of low fat mayo for dressing (5g of fat, versus 10g of fat in regular mayo). There are radishes and cilantro buried under there too. Yum yum! #veggiesaurus

My food intolerances are forcing me to eat higher vibrational food. I'm not being given a choice... I must eat real food. At the same time intermittent fasting, means that FOOD takes a back seat. It's not as essential as it used to be when I HAD TO EAT NOW! When I was HANGRY! I'm learning! When my partner eats, I watch. When I travel I must prepare snacks. Nothing is easy like it used to be, but I'm getting it, finally. There's a lesson in the struggle.

And thats what I experienced myself to a great part when I changed my diet to a vegan one almost two years ago. When learning about all my intolerances and studying lists I was always thinking why the hell are the healthiest things on these lists?! And especially this thing about the Oxalates. I think the research there is good - but they might be interpreting the results just in the opposite way. They find oxalate crystals in organs and in the tissue, for example in the thyroid. What if this happens because those crystals go there to kill viruses and pathogens? People following a #lowoxalatediet eat mostly meat, eggs & dairy, maybe a little bit lettuce and zucchini (ok, a few more things, but none of the super healthy things). I read about people in that group eating more then 6 eggs a day 😳😳. Altough I totally could make a connection to the symptoms they describe I just couldn't make friends with what they suggest to do - don't eat spinach, kale, celery etc. etc. I will now try not to focus on histamine, salicytates or oxalates anymore but only the healing power of the food. So I will now start to enrich my current vegan AIP diet (3 weeks so far) with lots of healing fruits and veggies from the forbidden lists and especially start #juicing - I guess the H. Hake with butter, broccoli, alfalfa sprouts, cress and coriander.
I try to have fish at least three meals a week to increase the omega-3 level.

So far the meal is lowhistamine. I do add sauerkraut though to get some cheap probiotics. The sauerkraut contains lots of antihistamine black nigella sativa seeds. It isn't enough for those with extreme histamine intolerance but since it is my son that suffers from intolerance I am fine with sauerkraut even if I have the gene variant of a low DAO enzyme.

lil confession: it's realllllly hard for me to answer questions like, "is x supplement working?" Or "is y helping?". My answer is generally going to be... "maybe?" "Probably?" Or "eventually I bet it will?" MCAS is such a complex disorder that there's not really "one thing" that is going to cure me or makes things significantly better on its own. I've met some people with histamine intolerance that were able to add like a vitamin or cut out a couple foods and then be "fine"- but this has not been my experience at all. It is a complex, multi layered disease and I am not going to find the "one thing" that will make it better. Rather, by doing a large combination of many things, I will slowly nudge towards healing. I've accepted this fact. But it makes it hard when someone asks me if an individual supplement is "helping". I can certainly tell if a supplement makes things worse (if I react to it), but if I have no negative reaction... then I mean I know it's not hurting? But this is going to be a long, slow process over many years and I'm unlikely to see immediate, dramatic results from any one thing I try.
