I was working on a client's images tonight when my 11 year old walked up to me and says matter of factly "Photography is one of the most important jobs of all time."
"Why do you say that?" I ask. "Because they are memories that will never leave…… unless they catch on fire." okay then.…… (I sure love her respect for my job though!) Exhibit A: this image was captured 4 years ago. Last week the baby's mother contacted me frantic because she realized she had lost all of his FIRST YEAR photos. All of them. His first professional portraits as a newborn, sixth months old, year old, you get the idea. This is a reminder to us all of how precious our images really are. Print them. Back them up. Print some more! Thankfully this mother still has her photos after I dug through my archives. So I will make the plug as well for a professional who meticulously backs up her files and takes care of her clients' images as if they were her own. PSA out!
