Apologies it's going to be a long post to read 😂 and some of my friends are going to hate me for speaking the truth but I used to be so struck on the #materialisticworld,
After all, I am a #designer, I am part of creating stunning #interiors and furniture.
The #chanelbags, the #Hermeskelly and #Birkins, the #balmain the #valentino or the latest #ySl, You name it I had it.
With age and the challenges of life come wisdom and knowledge. I couldn't be just another #fashionista / #Designer showing my wealth and my good taste! There had to be more than that to life right?
So I committed my company to stop using Animals fibers and leather and replace all these so called #luxurious #materials by #sustainable #materials and better alternatives for us and for the planet !!! Not because it is trendy to run a vegan/ sustainable company but because we want to make a difference!!! 🌱🌿🍃
It just breaks my soul to see that we are so consumed by the materialistic world without even wondering how things are made! 😔
It takes 6/8 alligators to make a #crocobirkin and #crocokelly because Hermes only uses the belly skin of the animal which is the softest! Reminding you we don't even eat alligators here! it's roughly sold 60k at the #hermesStore or even 100k on #ebay 🐊for the #himalayabirkin and I know because I used to want one so bad and think that would be the ultimate gift to myself!
I don't knock anybody's hustle but come on... there are other alternatives to #animalcruelty, we have to be more aware than following the big #fashioncorporation and #bigbrands!!! #makeyourresearch my loves! Dont fall for all silly #fashiontrends, you could still be a fashion icon without using #animalproducts I promise! 💁🏽
