Week 11: 864 miles
It's been a pretty uneventful week filled with lots of rain, hot temps, and gangs of killer black flies that will drive a sane man crazy. I stealth camped 3 nights in a row to get some time away from the crowded shelters. I think I'll start stealth camping more often. It gives you a truer experience of living amongst the wilderness. I was gifted one the best sunsets and sunrises of my life from atop The Priest Mountain.
Also, we got to camp at the Devil’s Backbone Brewery and enjoy delicious food, fresh brewed beer, cigars, and played cornhole! I'm currently in Waynesboro, VA taking a few days off to rest a small injury. Next week I'll be in the gorgeous Shenandoah National Park where supposedly you are guaranteed to see some bears.
Maybe I can pet one? 😁
Song of the week:
“Simple twist of fate” - Bob Dylan
Book of the week: Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History "Blueprint for Armageddon”
