"I wasn't born to just pay bills and die"
I can remember one night as I was 'studying' for my Masters Degree class, scrolling through social media, comparing myself to a whole bunch of fit girls thinking, ...."look at these girls, they get to be in a gym all day and be fit, look perfect, model for a fitness company or whatever...they look so happy, and are having fun, and this is their job?! They make money at this?! Why can't I do that?!" As I was about halfway through my Degree (too far in to quit), & I really started questioning my choice. Actually, that wasn't the first time...I've always been undecided when it comes to 'what do I want to be when I grow up?'....but I settled on a career choice and that was that. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore kiddos and being a counselor, I just know I also love fitness with a passion!
I found a true joy in making myself a better person physically a handful of years ago. I started running before I finished undergrad, and when I stated Grad school I fell into the clean eating and lifting lifestyle. I absolutely loved anything to do with health and fitness and couldn't get enough of it.
Fast forward to when I started following an amazing woman on Instagram...she had it all! A fun lifestyle, a job in fitness, and she was so motivating and inspiring that I just HAD to get some of what she was having. I reached out to her, told her my inner conflicts, shared with her my desires and dreams, and asked a TON of questions. Being the nice woman she is, she didn't think I was too annoying and actually talked me through my entire thought process and helped me come to the conclusion that I can have my cake and eat it too! I CAN have a career in health and fitness AND continue my education and even still be a counselor! Not to mention how much fun she has everyday as a coach, how much money she makes, and how easy it is to do what she does...the choice was easy! I took a leap, and haven't looked back since! Not only have I earned my degree and completed my education...I've been a successful coach the whole last year of school and internship! And I'm only getting more successful from here!
