The Green Parrot's Key West Songwriter Festival shows have become one of the Festivals not-to-be-missed events
and this years event on Friday, May 12th, with shows beginning at 5:30 and 10 p.m is no exception.
The Green Parrot Bar proudly welcomes to their 5:30 p.m. Soundcheck, High South, a West Coast-based trio whose high-soaring vocal harmonies capture the same evocative spirit that gave lift to such bands as the Byrds, CSNY and the Eagles.
For the evening show, beginning at 10 p.m., The Key West Songwriters Festival presents The Sisterhood, an organic bled of classic West Coast folk and timeless rock n' roll, powered by Alyssa Baillie and Ruby Stewart's soaring richly textured harmonies. Both ladies have strong musical DNA. Alyssa is the daughter of Kathie Baillie & Michael Bonagura (the core of country band Baillie & The Boys) and Ruby's father is rock icon Rod Stewart.
The Sisterhood is followed by Stax Records Legendary guitarist Steve Cropper at 10:45 backed by Nashville Blues Rockers The Dylan Altman Band, who will continue into the wee hours of this special night of music.
