I asked one of my teary eyed campers why she felt sad. She quickly replied "because this is the happiest I've ever been and I don't want to let it go." .
After reluctantly busting out of the camp bubble and reflecting on the last week, I'm left speechless, refreshed and hopeful. Hopeful that the rest of the world can become a little bit more like GVRC, and that we don't have to let it go. Camp makes these 100+ kids, of various ability, feel seen, heard and valued. Each one of them sleeps in a tent, is part of a tribe, swims, goes to a dance, shoots arrows, eats s'mores, and gets covered in dirt. It's a recipe for them to thrive, to shine and to belong. The energy this creates is so strong that you can actually feel it. So cheers to more of that goodness, to a week in the woods, to belly laughs and to the most beautiful, powerful and sensible chaos I've ever seen. Until next year, Here Is Love. #gvrc #hereislove #everyonehaspotential 💙
