We had an incredible night! We rescued 13 sheep, 2 turkeys, 1 Peacock and 3 chickens from the California fires. .

And this years theme is: ‘I wish I knew’, because many expecting and new mums and dads are surprised and shocked by how challenging becoming a parent can be.

This year our Rockdale & Wolli Creek offices really want to do as much as we can to give back to those in need. We’re currently holding a Christmas Drive for The Exodus Foundation which has been run by Rev Bill Crews for many years.
Every year the foundation holds an annual Christmas drive for the needy and homeless. To help them, we are collecting donations to put towards this year’s Christmas lunch and their FREE Loaves & Fishes Restaurant plus Mobile Food Truck.
The Exodus Foundation helps ensure those in need don’t miss out on good quality meals, so we encourage you to donate food and gifts. They also accept supermarket gift cards! Please get into the spirit of the season by collecting food and gifts for the homeless and needy.
We would love to support this foundation and help give those less fortunate than us some joy over the Holiday Season. You may reach out and support them directly via @exodus.foundation

I am far from perfect, but as I laid with my son today, I saw how perfect Gods timing has been in my life. There are so many examples, ones that make me smile, laugh, some that bring me to tears, others I wanted to never think about again, but each event in my life was to prepare me to be Christian’s mom. Even as I go through “parenting 101” with my son, and have my fair share of fails, I know God is preparing us for for his bigger plan. I am beyond blessed to have the support and love of family and close friends, who have been such amazing role models for my son and I. Especially for parents and siblings who watch over Kai as I am gone.
Tomorrow I leave for California to help with what will be, my first trip with the disaster relief as a nurse in the ICU. Explaining that to my son isn’t the easiest thing. Good thing he understands from what we have experienced in his short life what it means to “help people”. So when I tell him that I have to go, “help some people feel better” he simply says “that’s good, because they all need to go home” brings me to tears to leave for a short time. (Which already feels like forever, and I haven’t left) but I know he will be watched like a hawk, loved to moon and back, and will indulge in so much ice cream with his papa. 🍦 I thank God for what I thought was “bad timing” because it actually has been spot on, and perfect.

*** Dealing With Toxic People *** *****Read on for a quick mindset tip ***** Do you have toxic people in your life? Perhaps it’s a friend, family member, work colleague or employee.

Do these people TRIGGER you?....... Do you find yourself getting HOOKED into rumination, frustration, unpleasant emotion..... you know.... that yucky gut feeling.... tight chest...... utter frustration burning you up... stopping you from sleeping!
Here’s the thing.... usually when we are TRIGGERED by someone else’s behaviour, words or actions it is because they are acting in a way that is incongruent with our VALUES.
This is a good way to actually become more attuned to your values.
Perhaps this person is acting unprofessional, rude, aggressive, disrespectful, running late, untidy, disorganised, unkind.... if this is triggering you it’s a good indication you have STRONG VALUES in this area.... Step 1: use it as a learning experience to explore and identify your values.... and then YOU ACT ALIGNED with your values ...... always..... don’t get dragged into being reactive, revengeful or behave poorly just because this person IS.... that’s their crap... not yours!

Step 2: Try switching your mindset from: “Why should I” “Why is this happening” “This is awful” “I wish it would go away” “I can’t do anything” “This always happens to me” “Bad things happen to me” “It will never work” “I will never be good at this” ...........etc!!!!!! To This:

I GET TO....... I get to learn how to deal with difficult people
I get to practice my assertive skills
I get to learn about my values
I get to problem solve
I get to learn how to sit with uncomfortable emotions
I get to always act aligned with my values
I get to understand what’s Important to me
I get to learn
I get to form new relationships, friendships
I get to grow
