I'm slowly upgrading my kitchen items with handmade. The first finish is replacing my heat pad for the oven. I have been using a floral bottle green pad that used to belong to my husband's grandmother for far too long!! It's not all out with the old and I'm with the new though. Pictured with our antique Peugeot coffee grinder and herb cutter also handed down from my husband's family line. The inspiration for the heat pad came from some flying geese that didn't make the cut in my #sewcialbeesampler quilt and I wanted to practise a quilting pattern for my #globalgaggle #geeseswap . I'm happy with how it came out, I always find quilting flying geese hard. It's nice to have a finish that's has morphed from a combination of two longer term projects I'm working on!
