Seasons of change are upon us here in Iceland and it's strange to experience the darkness again. The long bright nights are quickly transitioning into slate blue twilight.
Stars I haven't seen in many months are popping out to say hello and brief glimpses of the aurora faintly appear as opaque green swashes against dwindling summer skies. I love this transitional period.
Note: This image was captured at @volcanohuts during an official bonfire night at the huts end of last summer. Open fires are not allowed (illegal) in Iceland unless organized officially at a designated site in a controlled setting. Specifically... Please don't build random stacked fires, etc, on the sides of rivers, canyons, or in the mountains, etc for "the gram"... it's not cool to find half burnt stacks of wood throughout the pristine wilderness. Just don't do it. #Iceland
