CRUNCHY CHICKPEAS

This is most definitely NOT a new snack for me, I’ve been having roasted chickpeas since I was little!
It’s a very popular snack in India 🇮🇳! ⠀

✅ A great snack
✅ A great salad topper
✅ A great alternative to chips!
✅ Source of fibre
✅ Source of plant protein

AND most importantly they are DELICIOUS 😋

Making this at home means you will save 💰especially since you can get a can of chickpeas for ~ 75 cents!

INGREDIENTS
1 can chickpeas, drained
1/2 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
Salt (your choice)
Spices of your choice (I love paprika or sometimes just plain)

METHOD
Preheat oven to 200 degrees C (400 degrees F)
1. Drain chickpeas and pat dry with a paper towel
2. Remove chickpea skins (you don’t have to do this but I personally believe this produces a better result)
3. Once the chickpeas are dry add to a bowl with 1/2 tablespoon EVOO and sprinkle with salt (don’t be stingy) mix together
4. Add chickpeas to a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 30-40 minutes (tossing the chickpeas every 10 minutes)
5. Once golden remove from the oven and THEN toss with your preferred spices. WHY? If you add the spices before they are likely to burn and taste bitter (IMO)

Im not going to lie, my first thought when I saw these pictures was EW- 😱my cellulite is showing. I felt insure. 😡 😫I was tempted to delete them and take a picture in a more flattering position—> but then I remembered that this journey is about HONESTY! Guess what? Ive lost 48 lbs and I still have cellulite and stretch marks! Its normal! Its okay! It doesn’t mean that I’m not beautiful or that I am flawed and should feel embarrassed. I am damn PROUD of this body. 🔥I am proud of how strong this body is getting every day, what this body has been through, what this body has helped me get through, and what it will get me through in the future. Cellulite is so “hush-hush” in the fitness community that its easy to feel bad about yourself if you have it-because you think well SHE doesn’t have it. 💁🏾Guess what? Almost EVERYONE has cellulite-there is nothing to be ashamed of! 🙌🏽Certain poses and lighting makes it less apparent and those are the pictures chosen for the IG- but I want to normalize it and let you know that its OKAY. 👌🏼It was hard for me to post these but I thought if this can help someone out there love their body even just a little bit more -then I'm making a difference-THATS the purpose of this page. ❤️To share my journey, and guess what -cellulite is part of it. Hay les va, un día antes del día de la independencia me hablo una personita diciéndome que tenia un evento familiar en donde cada familia tenia que llevar un platillo mexicano y buenoo el punto es que me preguntó que como le podía hacer para no salirse de su plan y aún así comer ricoooo.
( a su familia le toco llevar enfrijoladas al evento)
y le di unos tips de que ingredientes sustituir y que usar y buuuuummmmm hoy me mando esta foto diciéndome que su platillo fue todo un éxito en si evento! Fue el primerito que se termino por lo rico que estaba y naaadieee tenia idea que estaban comiendo muuy saludable.

Los tips que le di fueron:
Cambia: •Tortillas de harina➡️Tortillas de avena (si quieres casi el mismo sabor que las de harina) o por tortillas de nopal.
•Frijol refrito➡️Frijol en bola y tu lo mueles sin aceite!! •Crema➡️Yogurt griego/Requeson.
•Relleno: usa pollito desmenuzado o si quieres queso usa panela o oaxaca light.

Sólo las metemos al horno o la plancha vuelta y vuenta 2 minutitos y quedan suuuper crocantes y tiernas 😍😍 y en nada podemos tener un bocado riquísimo y sin harinas!!! 👏👏👏 lo podemos hacer a gusto, dulce o salado 👍 con crema de maní o ajonjolí 😋 queso crema 😋 frutas o verduras 🍆🥝 lo transformamos en un bocado nutritivo y delicioso ⬆️⬆️ en este caso ando apurada, de aca para allá todavia no paré desde hoy temprano 🏃‍♀️ así que lo mío fue bien simple 👉 queso crema con palta y semillas limon y toque de oliva 🥑😍 y el postre jeje!
