#1empty1newbie | antioxidant mist 💦
#niod Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist (SDSM): probably my fave mist because it works as a liquid antioxidant serum. This water-based mist has a yeast-derived superoxide dismutase (SOD), which is a powerful anti-oxidation enzyme that counteracts damaging effect of superoxide in cells and diminishes inflammation under direct UVB exposure; additionally, it contains marine exopolysaccharides – a fermentation-derived product that is capable to preserve more water than the highest molecular sizes of hyaluronic acid; it also contains North American Four O’ Clock Flower) to add anti-inflammatory benefits.
📌Shall I spritz my face every-5-min?
NO, please don’t 🚫!!! Misting your face and leave it to dry can lead to skin dehydration. As water dries on the skin, it evaporates and draws some of the skin's existing moisture out w/ it. Unless you're applying serum/moisturizer immediately afterward, spritz your face, wait a few secs, then PAT OFF THE EXCESS!
📌How/when to use SDSM? SDSM feels like water and should be used before thicker products:
☀️In the morning, I use it after cleanse, pat the excess and apply my vitC (optional: 5 min break for my AM coffee), then I apply SDSM again (mainly to damp my skin before applying hydration serum – this way, the hyaluronic forms from my serum will have abundant moisture to lock in my skin).
🌙At night, I use SDSM after cleanse, followed by CAIS (copper peptides serum) and MMHC (hydration serum). In the nights I use acid toner, I will spritz SDSM or Serozinc (thermal water w/ zinc sulfate - very soothing but has no antioxidants) after the acid toner and then move on w/ the rest of my PM routine (serum, etc).
📌Is the NEWBIE the updated SDSM2? No.
Unfortunately, I bought my newbie before the launch of SDSM2 - an updated version w/ a more potent & stable form of SOD + a ph-balanced extract of a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral - malachite - that also works as antioxidant; I’ll have to wait 6 months to try SDSM2 (it takes time to finish a 240mL mist, even when used daily). Not a problem though… I love the original formula of this “liquid anti-inflammatory & hydrating goodness” ❤️
