Calorie dense foods (like chocolate & snack bars) can be delicious & a convenient way to snack when you're on the go, but in my experience they can be easy to overeat & are no where near as filling as whole foods like fruit & veggies 😰 .
The bowl of fruit on the left also contains great amounts of fibre, vitamins, minerals & antioxidants. All the things the chocolate bar lacks. The benefit of the fruit is that it also helps to curve sweet cravings too 😍

Some fruits also contain better types of carbs then chocolate. Low GI carbs in some fruit release energy slower keeping blood sugar levels more stable & help to keep you fuller for longer 👌🏼The chocolate on the right has high GI carbs which releases energy faster into the blood stream meaning you'll be hungrier quicker 🙁

I love volume eating with fruits & veggies as I find you get much more "bang for your buck" ie: A lot more good for generally less calories 👌🏼 Don't get me wrong, I still eat chocolate & treats occasionally but the majority of the time, I prefer more volume because; it helps with satiety (the feeling of fullness), reduces feelings of deprivation associated with calorie reductions (as you feel full & content) and leads to greater amount of vitamins, minerals & antioxidants in your diet 😎

The point of this isn't to scare you into avoiding chocolate or gorging on fruit. Activated Coconut Protein Balls made with 'All Black' @womensbest vegan superfood protein powder! 🖤
Recipe
Ingredients:
1/4 cup cashews
1/4 cup of almond or oats flour
1/4 cup of quick oats
1 Tbsp. maple syrup
1-2 Tbsp. coconut oil, melted
2 Tbsp of coconut milk
1 scoop of 'All Black' @womensbest protein superfood

How to make:
Blend all the above ingredients in a food processor until a gooey texture comes together.
Ball it as you like and roll it in coconut flakes if you want the topping.
Chill for 10 minutes in the freezer or leave overnight in the fridge.

🍅INGREDIENTS🧀.

📍2 tablespoons olive oil
📍1/4 cup onion, chopped
📍3 cloves garlic
📍2 (28 ounce) cans whole tomatoes🥫
📍2 cups chicken stock
📍1/2 teaspoon thyme, finely chopped
📍Salt, to taste
📍Freshly ground black pepper, to taste.

For the croutons:
📍4 slices bread🍞
📍4 slices cheddar cheese🧀
📍2 tablespoons olive oil
📍Parsley, for garnish 🍃
📍Optional: 6 strips of ham or smoked turkey.

👨‍🍳INSTRUCTIONS👩‍🍳.
.
In a pot, add olive oil and saute onion and garlic, until softened. Transfer the onion and garlic to a blender, along with the tomatoes. Puree until smooth.

Add tomato mixture, chicken stock, and thyme into the pot. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.
.
Meanwhile, make the grilled cheese croutons: assemble sandwiches by placing 2 slices of cheese (and optional - 2 to 3 slices of ham or turkey) in between 2 slices of bread. Heat butter in a pan and brown sandwiches until the cheese has melted and the bread is toasted. Set aside to slightly cool.

Slice into crouton cubes.

To serve, ladle soup into bowls and place grilled cheese croutons on top. Bon Appétit.😉😋

JAZZED (and a little leery) because I’m about to take my first spin class in like, YEARS tonight 🚴🏼‍♀️ My standards for spin class are super high because we had the BEST instructor at the gym I went to during college in Athens and I’ve yet to find one who makes class equal parts enjoyable and challenging. Fueling up beforehand with a couple of these❗️PEPPERMINT ENERGY BITES❗️Obviously had to put a classic spin on one of my favorite snacks, but the next time I make these I’m definitely adding in legit chopped up peppermint!!!! Try these babies out!

3/4-1 cup almond flour (or oat flour)
1 scoop @toneitup chocolate plant-based protein powder
1 scoop @vitalproteins collagen peptides (optional)
2 T raw cacao powder
1/3 cup almond butter
1/4 cup almond milk
1 T chia seeds
2 T shredded unsweetened coconut (optional)
1-2 tsp peppermint extract
Generous amount of ground cinnamon

Combine all ingredients together. Stir together well. Add in additional 1-2 T almond milk if needed. Roll into balls and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Makes about 14-15, depending on how big you make them.

Up and about before 7:30am even on a Saturday. Protein bowl for breakfast: greek yogurt, biscoff protein powder. Topped with a sugar free digestive, almond butter, banana and protein granola. Supposed to doing an induction at a brand new gym later but I feel rather attached to my current old one. As the saying goes, it's better the devil you know.

B A K E D B L U E B E R R Y Porridge 💜 this one is very similar to my carrot cake recipe but uses courgette instead of carrot and blueberries instead of sultanas, topped of with a sprinkle of chopped pistachio nuts. Love this fresh out of the oven or warmed up in the toaster the next day. Such a great breakfast for these cold mornings, really satisfying and providing one of your five a day, carbs, protein, fibre, vitamin C, antioxidants and B vits with a little healthy fat too 💜

CHOCOLATE CAKE FOR BREAKFASTTTT 😍😛😛 I was debating what to have for breakfast (as I got into bed last night 🌚) and my first thought was chocolate zoats - porridge with grated courgette- and then my mind went to baked oats so I thought why not COMBINE THEM 🙌🏼😍 and let me tell you. Pure. Deliciousness. It’s basically chocolate cake for breakfast and all I did was bung in the microwave for 3 mins: - 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 grated courgette - 1 tbsp chocolate protein powder
- 1 tsp cacao powder
- 2 tsp flaxseed
- 2 tsp sweetener
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
Then I popped it in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 mins. Frickin DEEELICIOUS 🤤🤤

When you're busy and don't have time to whip up some eggs in the morning, make breakfat simple and satisfying ✌🏽

Pumpkin brownies 🎃💕Recipe: 1 cup of mashed pumpkin, 1/2 cup of your choice of nut butter, 2 tablespoons of cacao, 2 tablespoon of stevia, 1 tablespoon of plant based protein - bake at 180 degrees for 20minutos. This recipe is da bomb!! So amazing! And the smell of these... P.S Adding protein is not mandatory.
