This kid. Yes, that plate he requested tonight and he ate it all thanks to that swim lesson appetite. We call them “crabby patties” but really he is eating a quinoa/vegetable patty covered in avocado and mixed vegetables. I am sure some people are saying my kid will never eat that. Give them a chance and they will surprise you. I try to include Ryder in our meal prep and planning. If he sees something in the store and he wants to try it, we try it. Also, be persistent. It can take up to 10 times introducing a new food for your kid to actually eat it. Sure, there are plenty of times when he won’t give something a shot but that is his choice (and he goes hungry) and we will try again. Good nutrition starts at home. Feed them the rainbow..

Meal prep lunches for my little dude and me the next few days. I'm having chicken salad stuffed peppers with veggies and string cheese, and he's having tuna salad on whole wheat with veggies and cheddar. I thought the chicken salad with greek yogurt instead of mayo might be funky, but it's actually REALLY good. My lunch comes in under 300 calories and packs about 37 grams of protein!

I’ve struggled with being present in my own life because I’m either worrying about the past, or focusing too much on the future. There’s the constant need to be perfect in all aspects of my life... because I constantly compare myself to other peoples highlight reels and ask myself why I’m not in that perfect place. .
It takes a complete mind set shift to see that all I can really do is focus on the here and now. I need to place more emphasis on being present and enjoying life’s experiences. No more comparing. It’s time to focus my energy on what I need. .
