I am raising 4 kids so I somehow understand a little how busy and stressful it can be feeding the kids before they leave for a long day. Feeding the kids well for Breakfast becomes important as it really sets the energy and mood we want them to have for the day. Remove all the sugar loaded 'food like substance' from your child's diet and see how the level of concentration and energy improves. Nonetheless, we don't want to be spending hours in the kitchen, so my list of recipes is a really helpful one. Most of them can be prepared before hand and even freeze some! Yesterday's meal prep workshop in Parry Sound. It amazes me weekend after weekend I get to meet new people to prep with, and they end up being just the best people....every time. Carly and Megan you two were a blast to prep with! Your energy and jokes were simply the best. They both did the classic's menu but subbed out tofu nuggets for Tex-mex casserole. They both packaged each meal into individual portions leaving them with roughly a months worth of healthy dinners. MY PERFECT NUTTY GRANOLA
After experimenting with lots of different recipes over the years, I've finally found the perfect balance of low natural sugars with delicious crunchy nuts for this granola. Ideal with yogurt and fruit, or on its own as a snack. Lovely weekend treat for all those who have given up processed sugars for Lent.
Ingredients:
100g Oats
10 Dates
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
10 Brazil Nuts, chopped
50g Walnuts , chopped
50g Cashew Nuts, chopped
50g Mixed seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, linseed, chia)

Method:
Simmer chopped dates in 2 tablespoons water in a small pot for 5 to 10mins, and blitz into a smooth paste with hand-blender. Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a large bowl and transfer to a large baking tray and spread evenly. Cook in pre-heated oven at 180 degrees C for 10 mins, then reduce temperature to 110 degrees C for a further 40 mins. (Checking every 10mins and mix with spoon). Remove from oven and leave to cool, and transfer to a jar, should produce 3/4 litre. #gonutrition #healthyeatingforbusypeople #nuttygranola #lowsugargranola #healthybreakfast #snacksforlent #gorecipes
