I decided to switch up my #supplementsaturday a bit today and talk about some of the myths associated with using supplements!

MYTH #1️⃣ Your body can’t digest more than 30g of protein at time | in reality to grow muscle you need to minimize muscle breakdown and increase protein synthesis! In fact a study showed that eating 70g protein in one sitting improved total-body protein synthesis! 👊🏼

MYTH #2️⃣ All supplements are created equal | 100% false! Every single company has different standards for quality of product. And guess what bodybuilding supps fall under a category that does not have to be FDA approved. So do your due diligence when choosing supplements because technically they can put whatever they want in there!

MYTH #3️⃣ Creatine is a steroid | Nope Nope Nope! Creatine is definitely not a steroid, and idk where is this even came from! It’s a natural substance found inside our body that helps supply energy to muscle cells! Supplementing with only increases the amount of energy supplied to muscles!

MYTH #4️⃣ Supplements are a waste of money | Not necessarily. While I whole-heartedly believe that you do need supplements to reach goals, I also do not believe you are wasting money buying them. They are specifically designed to supplement your workouts and typically they do exactly what you pay for.

Regardless of what you hear about supplements, good or bad, to make progress with your health you have to put in the work. Supplements won’t work if you don’t put in the work, that’s a guarantee! If you think they are a waste of money, don’t buy them!

If you want to use supplements keep your specific goals in mind and do your research. Don’t just buy supplements to buy them!

I had a little shit fit @wholefoods today when I was trying to buy a potato salad for the other members of my family and the only option they had was made with egg-less mayo 🙄 with the number one ingredient being canola oil. 🤢
I’m fine to turn a semi-blind eye to low quality ingredients when I eat out but when the ingredients are staring right at me, not so much. 😡
So thank you @primalkitchenfoods for providing salad dressings without a bunch of crap. @wholefoods take note: you could do this too, if you gave a damn. 🖕
