Sometimes I crave #allthecarbs 🍞🍚🍠 other times I crave #allthefats 🥑🥓🥜.
I love the discussions taking place in my last post! I do want to clarify something though, even though I have deleted MFP and am no longer sticking to set macro numbers I have not completely transitioned to #intuitiveeating. Intuitive/mindful tracking may be more accurate. The intuitive part has been getting back to eating when I'm hungry and not when I'm, not. Choosing foods based on my preferences that day, not numbers, i.e. Wanting more fats or more carbs, etc. I am very aware of what and how much I'm eating and can run quick totals (macros/calories) in my head for each meal and the day. It's taken time but I've learned how much my body needs/can handle to maintain, which is my 'goal' right now. I don't sweat the small stuff and have simplified tracking in a sense (because calories still count/matter whether you track them or not) I don't bother tracking fibrous vegetables, condiments, marinades, etc. And I simply count the food for its main macro source, not worrying about trace amounts of carbs in a fat source like #avocado for example. At home I'll still utilize my food scale on occasion to portion out nutrient dense foods like #peanutbutter. I also don't track every meal, everyday. I still have #pizza, #icecream, #burgerandfries, #chocolate, etc on occasion but still like to focus on quality over quantify (i prefer a scoop of full fat real ingredient ice cream over diet or pizza made with quality ingredients) and simply implementing nutritional checks and balances by making sure my other meals made up of lots of fruits, #veggies, lean protein, etc!
What we have here is one of my favorite meals of late: Sautéed Kale, Spinach, and Green apple + grilled Zucchini, Eggplant, red pepper all tossed together and topped with Salmon and Avocado 👌🏼 I can eat this meal any time of day... #breakfast #lunch or #dinner ...and I have!
