Did you know that infants and children are more vulnerable to food additives? This is because their immature digestive systems cannot break down the chemicals efficiently.
Sensitivity varies between people too. And certain foods can cause different reactions in different people.

When my #adhdboy was six, I became aware of certain food additives causing behaviours we'd rather not see. In particular, it was the preservatives in sausages, corned beef and ham; and red colouring.

Now that he's ten, when we choose to break the rules, we don't notice that deterioration in behaviour quite so much. Of course studies have shown that the things we now avoid are associated with many other health issues, so we are sticking to the changes we've made (90% of the time) - and enjoying the improvements to our overall health.

My go-to midday snack right here - hummus and veggies! Lately I've been buying a bunch of vegetables and washing and cutting them all up and once so they are in the fridge ready to go for easy snacking! Really helps me make healthy choices rather than reaching for a bag of chips when I get hungry during the day.
