Forgive me for my lack of posts lately!! Life has been extremely busy. From starting my new job (eeeeeek πŸ˜€πŸ˜¬) + moving into a new apartment (😍😍) I've been so distant from my phone and capturing my meals! On the bright side, these new @natuallycleaneats bars I discovered have came in CLUTCH this past weekend and last week. Obviously anything with chocolate chips is a win in my book so I'm loving these! No added sugars and it's packed with quinoa crisps + cashew butter + chia seeds + dates + hemp seeds + flax! All the healthy fats and plant protein for fuel πŸ‘πŸΌ It's such a pick me up when I feel overwhelmed or just starving! They also have a peanut butter and greens flavor 🀀SO GOOD. So happy to be back in my Sunday meal prep routine πŸ™Œ Dinner tonight is a much needed grain bowl with quinoa + roasted red pepper + spicy garlic broccoli + white beans + crispy brussels topped with the most addicting cilantro pesto (which I will be drizzling on alllll the things 🀀) For the pesto πŸ‘‰πŸ» 1/4 cup olive oil + 1/4 cup lemon juice + handful of chopped walnuts + 1 tbsp. nutritional yeast + loads of spinach and cilantro 🌿 Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Bonjour from Paris πŸ‡«πŸ‡· It's time for #tuesdaytips πŸ’ƒπŸ» My tip today is about enjoying yourself while traveling internationally, and embracing without the guilt. We can often get lost in our strict mindset of routine. Especially when traveling, it can be hard to stick to the habits you're so used to producing at home. And that's okay. I know I've talked about saying "no" to things to keep yourself sane, but this tip is all about saying YES!
It's important to enjoy the culture when traveling. Eat like the locals. Drink their local wines. You might not work out as much as you'd like to, but it's worth getting out of your mindset of "not being enough" of (x) to truly enjoy the lifestyle and culture new places have to offer. Without guilt.
I know personally we've been eating a lot of croissants, pasta and drinking wine. Walking when we can, and being sure to stay hydrated. We've also been enjoying the culture to the fullest, and nothing fills my spirit more.
So, when traveling- immerse yourself in the local culture. Say yes to local food, experiences and ways of doing things. ENJOY your live. And do it with love.

Bananas are the perfect ingredient in paleo baked goods because they add moisture and are a natural fiber rich sweetener. Many young women’s first trip to the gynecologist is prompted by a desire to take birth control pills, whether they are trying to avoid getting pregnant or hoping to alleviate the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Perhaps they know someone who takes β€œthe pill,” or a well-meaning parent or boyfriend has encouraged them to go on birth control. Most doctors are all too willing to hand them a prescription simply because they asked for it, and they often leave the doctor’s office with a few sample packs in hand so they can get started right away. Unfortunately, there is usually little mention of side effects apart from an obligatory blood pressure check.

Birth control pills might be a convenient way of avoiding pregnancy, but they are not without their risks. Many women falsely believe that because they are used so widely, they must be safe, and they often don’t learn about the side effects until it’s too late. You might not get pregnant when you take the pill, but you could end up with a lot of other very unwanted effects.

Some of the effects that women might notice right away after starting the pill aren’t that different from pregnancy, including weight gain, tenderness in the breasts, mood swings, nausea, and a decrease in libido.

That’s only the beginning. Over time, theΒ list of side effectsΒ grows to include yeast overgrowth and infection, irregular bleeding, higher blood pressure, spotting between periods, fluid retention and lower bone density. Contraceptive pills can also raise your risk of liver and gall bladder diseases and lead to liver tumors and gallstones.

Birth control pills more than double your risk of stroke

One of the biggest risks associated with birth control pills, however, is their ability to increase the risk of blood clotting in your veins, a risk that climbs as you take it for longer periods or take higher doses. Pills containing progestin are particularly risky. Thrombosis symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath, rapid pulse and nausea, and if it goes undetected, it could lead to aΒ fatal stroke.
