Plant of the Day: Bladderwrack
Bladderwrack also known as fucus vesiculosis is a form of kelp. It is alkaline or electrical which means they have a pH that is above 7. Alkaline plants are extremely important for the human body as the body is electrical and is composed of 102 minerals. Alkaline plants charge the electrical force of the human body enabling us to not only be healthy but to do everyday functions effortlessly. These plants contain the minerals needed to replenish our bodies with the nutrients its cells are looking for.
Bladderwrack is known for its extremely high iodine content which helps stimulate thyroid function, helping with metabolism, making it great for obesity and cellulite treatment. This powerful herb can help with rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis as well as joint pain.
Apart from iodine, bladderwrack is rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, sulfur, silicon and iron. It has moderate amounts of phosphorus, selenium, manganese and zinc. It is high in algin and mannitol, carotene and zeaxantin with traces of bromine.
