For me it is impossible to focus on one task for too long.
Usually when I sit still for two long I get extremely antsy and my brain feels fried.
Some call it ADHD. I constantly have to be moving; wether it’s my leg jiggling or foot tapping. It makes me calm and helps me to feel better.
Although I’m practicing mind over matter; this one is extremely difficult for me. One way I cope with it is by hitting the gym or going for a walk/run. Exercise can relieve stress, boost your mood, and calm your mind, helping work off the excess energy and aggression. 💡
Here’s a few helpful ways to handle ADHD or any like symptoms:
Because adults with ADHD often struggle with impulse control and jump from one subject to another, completing tasks can be difficult and large projects can seem overwhelming. To overcome this:
DECIDE WHAT’S FIRST
Ask yourself what is the most important task you need to accomplish, and then order your other tasks after that one.
TAKE THINGS ONE AT A TIME
Break down large projects or tasks into smaller, manageable steps.
STAY ON TASK
Avoid getting sidetracked by sticking to your schedule, using a timer to enforce it if necessary.
I enjoy organizing and having a system for my things such as highlighters, notebooks, files, calendars, and reminders. I’m the worst at remembering things and need these tools to help me out. Staying organized with all aspects of our lives doesn’t have to be overwhelming if we set up routines and learn to manage our time. 😊👌🏼
