Even though i have worked night shifts all weekend, its been nice that @felicity.eve21 and i have still manage to get out and about to spend time with Family and Friends.

Saturday was spent going along to @nzmuscle weekend sale, stopping in to see and catch up with @oscar_allankettle at the constellation store.

Watching My Daughter Techa perform at the primary school cultural festival with her school New Windsor.

We also popped along to the Grey Lynn Festival, fuelled up at @tigerburgernz before training at @wolfsgymnz

Sunday was spent, walking from Milford to Takapuna, stopping at @takapunabeachcafe for an @allpressespresso coffee before walking back.

Then we headed out for lunch with My Mum at @fika_with_me, before, again, training at @wolfsgymnz

It was all about, making time for the people that matter, this weekend.

Today we say goodbye to one of the good ones.

When i moved to Wellington in 2012, i worked with Hamish at Avalon Fire Station on Green Watch.

Only knowing a handful of people, Hamish, with his knowledge, kindness, caring nature and good banter, made the transition from Auckland much easier.
_____
I found Hamish always had everyones best interests at heart, supported his watch like we were his own children, and never wanted to let his watch down, even through his struggles with cancer.

A true battler he was!

I had a lot of good chats, laughs and coffee stops/visits with Hamish, which i will always remember.

Getting to the end of the year, i was looking back at the goals i set myself to achieve for 2017.

Last night i sat down to write the goals i want to achieve for 2018.
_____
Including ones i didnt achieve this year and re-evaluated those to fit where my life is heading now.

What was more satisfying, was sitting down with my amazing partner @felicity.eve21 and helping to set her goals for 2018.

We also took some time out to set goals we wanted to achieve individually and together over the next 5 years, which was quite scary, yet exciting to see in front of us.

Inflammation is a biological mechanism our bodies use to deal with internal and external events, such as combatting infections, repairing tissues or mitigating the immediate consequences of a fractured bone.

However, it often carries a negative connotation since many diseases provoke symptoms through the process of inflammation.

So although it is absolutely necessary for keeping the human body functioning properly, like so many things in biology, too much or too little is the problem. Inflammation can be managed with and without drugs.

In this study, we will focus on ketogenesis and ketones with regards to treating inflammation since both drug and drug-free approaches can be discussed.

After a busy set of shifts at work, the week started off well with a walk around One Tree Hill with @heli_g and some of the boys.

Also, sent my boy @xavierpaul21 off with his school friends to France for the holidays.
What an amazing experience for him to have!

I know this has been around for awhile now and it was one of those "fad social media famous" things.

Yes, i was a bit sceptical about the whole thing, whether or not it really did/does help.

So i blew it off, UNTIL recently!

Ive been using it for a couple of months now and i truly believe it does help.

- 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar: for digestion, blood sugar support, possible fat burning effects on a calorie deficit diet.
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice: for vitamin c, cleansing, digestive aid. - 5 shakes Cinnamon: for blood sugar regulation, plus helps dumb down muscle soreness.
Sometimes i also add
- 10g Glutamine: for immune support, gut health, muscle recovery.
