What's the most exciting thing you've done on vacation?
No I'm not holding an arrow. I'm shooting the most compact sling bow you've ever seen. (Swipe for video)
I think the best hunting tool in a survival situation is the one you can easily carry. My sling bow fits in my shirt pocket. I like my inventions to maintain as closely as possible their original design. I don't like plastic parts that bolt on or anything like that, so when I saw this in a vintage store I knew it'd make a perfect frame. The sturdy stainless steel rod frame was originally shaped to open milk bottles, back when that existed. I wrapped it with paracord, re-tied a slingshot band with loops, as I would a spear gun band, and stitched a pocket for the arrow. (I haven't shot it since this summer so don't judge me on the accuracy. I was hitting 2" groups in June. There's video on my feed I promise lol 😊 Fortunate Zwickeys spring tips help me find arrows) It shoots fairly well to 10 yards. Enough for small game. My favorite part about my slingbow is I can switch from an arrow to a spear and go straight into the water and shoot fish like a Hawaiian sling. Remember...it's stainless steel!!! Anyway, these are the things I think about. Lol.
