I have been asked many times about what has been a major influence on my work. My response to this very question is always the same. You might have noticed by now that Christ plays a very important role in what I do as a photographer and as a person.
My view on life has been colored by the grace and the mercy of Christ Jesus. This has been the major influence of the work that I do. I approach every job drawing from that same grace and mercy that I have received from Christ.
My goal is to share in the lives of people, love them because we all want to be loved. Be kind to them, value them and give them an experience they might not have had if they did not book me for their job.
I have lived a double life before and it is not the best of lives to live. So finding myself in Christ meant that I have to maintain myself in Christ. With this in mind I am gradually building a brand around Christ which would allow me to just be me and tell stories that are dear to me and to the clients that I work with/for.
So my advice to anybody running a business in this case a photography business is, build your business around your strengths. Do not follow the trend, accept your weaknesses and acknowledge your strengths and then grow from there. It is easier that way. With that said get to the drawing board and start planning. And if you need to go out and shoot, go out and shoot, find your voice, develop your style and please serve with your heart and with your mind. Serve every client like it's the only client you would ever have. Love them, be kind to them, value them and tell their story with love in your heart.
