I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disease for about 6 years now and it’s been a very difficult 6 years no to mention years of suffering before that from various conditions i now know it was all just the start. I used to get al sorts of digestive problems from heart burn to ibs feeling horrible after every meal but i almost thought it was just normal. Sometimes cramps in my bowls would make me unable to move for a while. I suffered with terrible mood swings and depression and just felt like something wasn’t quite right. Then anxiety kicked in with panic attack every day and doctors weren’t helpful at all. After many trips to gps I demanded a blood test to see if it’s caused by something hormonal or maybe a deficiency. And it showed that my thyroid functions were off. And it can cause all that. I was put on medication and it probably took a good couple of years to get the dosage right as one of my gps didn’t bother to look at a full thyroid function so i was on wrong dosage for over a year. Whilst this was going on i met Dave and he was ( and still is!!) amazingly patient and helpful with all the shit i was going through. Many times he would be driving me round the hospital while i was having full blown panic attacks thinking i was going to die or have a heart attack. Had to stop going to the gym or to do any activity as even the smallest raise in heart rate would send me in meltdown. Not talking about the constant pain i was in. So i started gaining weight so having my digestive system compromised wasn’t enough no exercise and energy and not knowing what I shouldn’t eat contributed. I thought i had a healthy diet. But now i know i can’t eat gluten, dairy, soy, caffeine and nightshade vegetables so not too bad right??? But actually it is totally worth it! Pain is gone!!! My depression and anxiety disappeared once my medication was optimised. I am slowly (very slowly) loosing weight and my mood is (mostly) stable. So anyone out there struggling with the same, do lots of research, don’t just trust what your gp is saying, they haven’t got all the time to research every single condition...

Happy Monday, #hashiwarriors 🙌🏻 i was in SUCH a rush this morning that I threw something together for lunch (attempting to stick to my GF/DF diet) and let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS! 🤗 1️⃣Gluten free wrap 2️⃣ Organic turkey slices 3️⃣ Baby spinach 4️⃣ Mango salsa (my favorite is from Mother’s) and 5️⃣ Spicy Humus! It took me literally 5 minutes and made for a yummy, no cook lunch. 😋 What are your favorite go-to lunches?

So long gluten; we’ve had some good times, but my Hashimoto’s/Hypothyroid body just can’t handle you any more 💔🍞

People thought I was crazy when I decided to so those "at-home" workouts. I mean after all I went to college to be a trainer and to own my own gym 😉

They said that being a stay at home mom meant certain things...
✔no sleep
✔ maybe I would get a shower every other day
✔ lots of diaper changes
✔ lots of noses to wipe ✔ mom jeans
✔ feeling invisible in my own body
✔ unsure of my purpose
Yes things have changed over the past 12 years! But I wouldn't change one minute of it!

Now I get to...
✔ see my kids grow & change daily
✔ kiss the owies and make everything better ✔ have a playdate in the middle of the week, just because
✔ make my own hours
✔ transform my body at home in 30 minutes a day
✔ pour into other mommas struggling to lose the baby weight, over come anxiety, or postpartum depression ✔ go on dream vacations because I took a chance to dream big and go outside of the box
I don't have super powers. I don't have any special training. I have a goal to be able to travel the world with my family. To help others do the same!

It's all about following your heart and never giving up!

Last night I talked with a group of ladies who are doing this new nutrition program with me. We talked about what’s working, what’s not, what we like about it, we talked about our trackers and all sorts of other stuff. This was a bowl of deliciousness that was eaten all by itself! This black eyed pea side is offered as a new addition to the Trails End Buffet over at fort wilderness. They have added a few new items to the spread. The blacks eyed peas also has chunks of bacon, brisket, onions, and tomatoes (which I picked out) all slow cooked together.
