There's this old poem, stuck in my head since we've been deployed in this planet.
We are the Dead
Short days ago,
Saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved
And now we lie
In Flanders Field
I can't recall the poet behind it nor know where is this Flanders Field but the first and second to last phrase hit me hard. We are the death troopers. And somehow I got this feeling we will all lie not long from now.
(This poem is taken from John McCrae's poetry titled In Flanders Fields)
