Hockey Hall of Famer sightings during the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
1. Chris Chelios. One of the toughest defensemen ever to play the game. Before this shot, a colleague wearing an Avalanche gear wanted his pic. Chelios covered the Avs logo on the chest of that jacket with his hand and said, "This is bad." Then I walked up to him and said, "I am a Leafs fan." And Chelios said, "That's even worse!!" 2. Peter Forsberg. One of the grittiest two-way centers ever to play the game. Injuries really got to him but at the top of his game, hardly anyone was better. An American hockey writer that I've befriended here took a photo with Forsberg first and bragged about it. This was before the Korea-Sweden women's hockey game and Forsberg is in town to do analysis for Swedish TV. So I went down to their studio and waited for him to finish his intermission report. But was told later he was literally tethered to his chair and couldn't get up. Maybe next time.
Been covering hockey at these Olympic Games for good two weeks now. Long hours and all, still loving it... #pyeongchangwinterolympics #pyeongchang2018 #hockey #olympichockey #hockeyhalloffame #nhl
