For a neighborhood so rich in artistic culture and political history, it's no surprise I fell in love with Harlem the way I did. It was everything from the people I walked past on the crowded streets, to those I met and shared stories with. The hustle and bustle on the sidewalks gave me life! [Side Note: you're never too smart, or old, to fall victim to a 'Harlem shakedown' though LOL DAMN.] Good times. And as I found myself slipping in-between the side streets, walking past the original brownstones, stopping and admiring the distinct architecture and being a typical tourist taking 1001 pics, I came across this mural.
This should be a daily reminder that Education is instrumental in developing ones future. It is a fundamental right. And even more importantly, it's NOT A CRIME. Never forget. #harlem #culture #urbanart #education #nyc #ellestreetart #flashbackfriday #writerswrite #wordsmith 🇺🇸 [📸 by me]
