Most of us are great avoiders. We avoid thinking more than we Think and create solutions for problems affecting our peace.
We are constantly checking messages, fb, ig, notifications and whatever else to avoid the thought that we don't want to face.
We try to fill the space that is hurting with things, excuses, alcohol and weed often as numbing agents
We put off the bills that are pilling up, taxes that are past due, exercise that is uncomfortable- all the things that cause us difficulties!
This tactic only brings temporary relief however and possibly may not yield peace for you. Mostly, whatever you're running from will grow into a much larger issue than it originally was. That "whisper" will start sounding like a SCREAM!
So why let it get worse before addressing it?!
Why wait till your doctor tells you that you have diabetes before you start taking care of your temple?!
Why wait till your relationship is mangled and devastated with pain to suggest counseling?! ..
AVOIDANCE IS NOT THE ANSWER, it never will be!!
Sit and think for just 1 min, without touching your normal means of avoidance, and write out the primary things that come to you in list form. Tackle that 1 min list tomorrow instead of letting it collect dust. REPEAT and tackle your next 1 min list. It's such a simple method, but imagine how far it will carry you in a week if you applied it daily! You'll be so surprised at just how far you've come, I promise you this!
