My lost-wax cast rings have finally arrived!
They began as wax, which I carved by hand. The wax is enveloped in a mold, then burned away. The cavity where the wax was is then filled with molten metal, leaving a perfect copy of the hand-carved wax.
It's so satisfying to see how they transform from wax to metal 🤤✨ Third image is the same ring, cast in both regular and de-oxidized sterling silver. De-ox silver resists tarnish, which is ideal if you live in a tropical climate (hey hey Singapore) or if your skin ph has a tendency to encourage tarnish (🙋🏼) I'll be removing sprews and finishing them up, just in time for Public Garden this weekend!
