Let's talk about injuries. See that big white patch?
I woke up yesterday with some mysterious deep muscle pain. It hurt to breathe which was really scary. I didn't want to do anything to make things worse so I was moving like I was carrying porcelain. I went to the acupuncturist and he got things moving. I woke up today still unable to breathe without pain. I had to consciously stop myself from going 0-60- oh, god. My back is fucked again. I'm going to go crazy having pain every time I breathe. How am I going to teach backbending this Saturday when I can't backbend-

Duing my private lesson, I was able to demo most of the lesson without pain. With injuries it's instinctive to fucus on lens so tightly we lose sight of the full frame. This spiral was me 24hrs ago. I'm thankful for the reminder that for everything we can't do, there's so much that we can. Be well everyone- and keep moving!

When I was a kid, I had a dream that really impacted me, because I thought it was a proper glimpse into my future (I had a major curiosity for the psychic realm and all things unseen, and I was a very imaginative child). The dream was short and simple: I was a fully grown woman, and working as a grocery clerk, wearing a beautiful red gown and with perfect, wavy brown hair. I was super calm and casual as I rang the items through, as if to say “I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, and I know it.” 💃🏻 #yassss .
As I grew up and understood that this wasn’t exactly a lofty career ambition, the memory of this dream became really amusing to me. As a kid, I thought, “oh yeah, adult Sarah is totally going to kill it!” because I didn’t understand the socioeconomic implications of various jobs. But knowing that I felt great as a grocery clerk in my ball gown and good hair seemed like winning at life to little Sarah, so I’m pretty sure she’d be pleased with where I’ve actually ended up. .
Things are never going to be perfect, but you have the option to be a kind and happy person, no matter your station in life. You are not your job, or your story, or your image ~ you’re actually the energy you put into the world. No matter where you are right now, just do your very best. 🖤
(PS - I actually HAVE worked as a grocery clerk! No shade whatsoever if this is your job ~ it can definitely be a lot of fun!)

Day 49/365 - Trying new elevation in the shoulders, which I changed where I spotted and felt less tension in the neck. Also working on a daily big tuck. And today tried out the press straddle drill which I managed a bad 2 reps! It's fun though! •

Sometimes I really feel like there is no better feeling than being upside down. There is something just so cool about being able to balance on your hands, also it looks really cool so that’s a plus. 😎
I’ve been working on my handstands for a while and there is something that works a lot better for me when I’m practicing and getting ready to hold on for a longer period of time. I am no handstand guru - but I know what has worked for me to find a line, and that is with one of my favorite exercises, the donkey kick or tuck up! It helps me practice feeling like my hips are right over my shoulders still with control. If you practice next to a wall, with your head near it, that may help you feel more comfortable with trying this move.

〰️Fluctuation - an irregular rise and fall in number or amount
I’ve been avoiding practicing this past week
I’ve been feeling heavy in my mind
I’ve been stressing about any and everything
I’ve been moody
I’ve been lazy
And I haven’t been motivated to push through whatever this block is -
But I’ve also been allowing myself to have this shitty week because I know it’s not going to last. I know I’ll get back to my normal self. I know I’ll be back to practicing daily. So this is ok.

It’s nearly the weekend everyone! Well in Dubai anyway! I’m very much looking forward to a lie in (if someone can pass the memo to mini that would be great😂)

A steady meditation practice can be useful for various things ... handstands among them. Technique is important, but concentration, self awareness, and the right level of confidence even more so. 🧘🏽‍♀️🤸🏾‍♀️ so get quiet and breathe a little bit before you come upsidedown. .
