When change sweeps under you like water coming to the shore line, the ground gets softer and more unstable. Thru that softness you're able to sink in alittle more. The ground swallows your base providing strength and protection. You could take a step and move away, but the process will keep repeating itself. It's nature. A big abyss of patterns. There is often a resistance of the soul to change. It's not until you allow the wet sand of the shore to hold you up so you are able to surrender to the ebs and flows of change. Only here can we embody it and become the change, simply be.... Where the ocean meets the sand.-

Mindfulness...it does the body good. .

It's #StartSomethingSunday again, and today I want to highlight the @holisticlifefoundation . .

This Baltimore non-profit has been working for some time to provide quality yoga and mindfulness education to their underserved community. .

More recently, the Foundation has taken their gifts into the classroom, partnering with schools in the Baltimore area to create Mindful Moment Rooms. .

This room is "an oasis of calm that is available at all times during the day. Students have the opportunity to self-refer [ ], or teachers may send distressed or disruptive students for individual assistance with emotional self-regulation." .

It's the new and improved "detention or time out," staffed by HLF participants who work hand in hand with school nurses, social works, and psychotherapists. .

The form of mindfulness given depends on the individual need of the student and could consist of meditation, breath work, targeted discussion, and/or yoga. .

Seriously, how dope is that? .

This video was taken last week for #effectivehandstands day 14. This is one of my favorite stretches and strength drills. It's a great way to get use to being upside-down while working the core and stretching hamstrings.

Day 8: Handstand Conditioning Challenge: Learning how to hollow and embedding that straight line so it becomes second nature. .

Action: Hands flexed, straight arms, shoulders by ears, the feeling of pushing arm pits to the floor, hollow lower rib and upper back, tummy engaged, pelvis on floor, Squeeze butt, legs and feet together, toes pointed. X5 and then hold... flowery Yoga you don't need to do!!
Depends on your structure and posture for this one. Some will find it hard to have pelvis on ground (probably because you have a sway back) shoulders might not be open... the list goes on. Just do what you can to find that straight line
Imagine a ruler on the side of the body, that's the kind of line we after

Ring handstand push up and handstand practice. First time trying the freestanding ring HSPU and I love how challenging it was. Not too bad for Day 1. Ring HS getting more stable than ever.
