If you guessed The Cobra pose than you definitely guessed right! However, I just added a variation to it - the exercise ball.

The Cobra stretch is normally a still static stretch, however with placing the ball under your pelvic to create motion gives you a bit of a Dynamic Stretch, which means your muscles will get a lot warmer faster and you’ll be burning some extra calories, and believe me, if you do enough reps and sets of this you will feel it‼️

✅ FIX YOUR SQUAT PART 1 ✅

There are many mobility requirements needed for a good-looking squat. This includes ankle dorsiflexion, ankle/foot pronation and supination, relative internal rotation at the knee, external rotation at the hip, as well as adequate hip flexion.
.
It’s not enough to be flexible in a joint, you need to be able to control your range of motion, and own positions. This goes for the bottom of the squat as well. One of the most effective ways to increase your mobility in your end range of motion is incorporating end range isometric contractions.
.
With end range isometrics, you are stretching out a joint a.k.a. bringing your joint to it’s end range of motion, and then activating the muscles around the joint.
.
Today’s movement will help you increase hip flexion specifically, which would translate into a better bottom position or hole position in the squat.
.
Hip flexion end-range isometrics.
.

1️⃣ Lie down on your back, with your hip in maximal hip flexion. It is important that you do not feel a pinch in the front of your hip in this position.
2️⃣ Place your foot on a wall or rig, and then activate your glutes and hip extensors driving your foot and leg into the wall. Hope this for 10 seconds.
3️⃣ Next, focus on pulling your foot away from the wall or rig, engaging your hip flexors and abs as much as possible. Hold for 10 seconds.
🔄 Repeat for 3 reps per side.

IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER #TRAININGTUESDAY !!

This week we ask the question: **WHY IS STRETCHING AFTER A WORKOUT IMPORTANT?** 🤔
.
Stretching can help optimize recovery. After a hard workout, your muscles 💪 that are overworked tend to tighten up to protect itself from injury and try to heal 🏥. When a muscle is stretched blood flow is increased in the area which can help with flushing out the lactic acid that was built during the exercise session. This leads to less soreness and stiffness the next day 🌞
.
Stretching also helps your joints and muscles move through their full range of motion🤸. With the human body, if you don’t use it you lose it. Take the hamstrings for example: if your hamstrings are already tight then you have to sit 💺 all day for work 👔 the next day, your hamstrings will eventually adapt to never needing a fully straightened out knee which is one of the reasons your hamstrings are always “tight.” 😫
.
Stretching right after a workout can allow you to reach your full potential with your mobility, and then let your body repair them muscle fiber tears in your fullest range of motion 🙌👍👌

#pnfstretching is one of the most effective types of stretching techniques especially for the hamstrings!

PNF stands for peopripceptive neuromuscular facilitation which is an advanced form of flexibility training.
·
The goal of PNF stretching is to facilitate (hack) the nervous system to relax a muscle and improve range of motion.
·
This is done by stretching and contracting the targeted muscle groups to stimulate the proprioceptive Stretch receptors (Golgi Tendon Organ) in your muscles.
·
The Golgi Tendon Organ works with the nrein control how much tension should be in the muscles to protect the body.
·
A study by Lempke L et. al 2018 suggested both static and PNF stretching are effective to increase range of motion, however one does not appear to be significantly more effective than the other.
·
A solid fllexibility program will utilize both of these techniques hand in hand.

Standing Pilates with resistance band.

This is how you style out a loss of balance! 🤣. Use the band or lose the band!

Watch points :

1. Hinge from the hips and keep spine in neutral and avoid arching lower back.

2. Keep your palms facing each other and reach arms with energy so they stay as straight as you can.

3. Breathe out to reach and extend the leg and inhale as you stand straight.

4. Keep your shoulders down and draw your scapula close to your vertebrae to prevent winging.

Options:

A) Bend your supporting leg as you stretch out and straighten as you come back to start.
B) Add pulses on extension... ballet Penche optional!! C) ending pose... Optional! 😜

Repeat 8 extensions then hold and pulse for 8. Repeat other side.
Stretch out lower back to recover.
