Knee Rehab☝🏼️

📝Here are a few movements I like to use in knee rehab for athletes.

🙋🏽‍♂️One thing about knee rehab is that it’s not usually dictated by the pathology. What this means is whether you are recovering from meniscus surgery, knee pain, or an ACL, the exercises are more a reflection of your individual limitations, sport demands, and goals or activities you like to do.
.
⛰In addition to the obvious knee joint muscles, the knee needs a tremendous amount of stability from the foot/ankle and hip. If you can challenge both complexes above and below the knee to carry their load, you will have a successful knee rehab.

Pushing from the heel will activate the rear of the leg (hamstrings and glutes). This variation I load the weight on my toes and drove from the thigh or #Quads. It's crazy to think that by simply placing the forefoot on the lever you completely change the muscle engagement. Drive from the hip like a sprinter start. Keep tension constant and resist the weight on the way back up. Explode back again and drive blood into the thigh. The glutes will activate at the back of the rep but focus on loading and stressing the quads. Go til failure then switch sides. SINGLE-LEG HIP THRUST FOR PAIN FREE SQUATS!

Single-leg hip thrusts is another great exercise to use as a glute activator during your warmup before squats! What's great about this exercise is that you use one leg at a time, which enables you to uncover and work on any side differences.
.
Do a couple of sets of these before your next squat workout together with side lying clams as I talked about in yesterday's post! Remember to focus on quality over quantity, as this is done to consciously activate and not fatigue your glutes!

How To Do Single-leg Hip Thrust:
1️⃣ Lay on your back with your knees bent and your hands and upper back resting on a bench
2️⃣ Lift one leg of the ground
3️⃣ Push your hips up towards the ceiling with the other leg until you reach the top position
4️⃣ Squeeze your glutes and abs as hard as you can at the top!

Two years transformation. I really laugh when people talk to me about genetics. Bitch please 😂😂😂 have you ever worked your arms for 5 hours twice every week for over s period of 6 months? Have you ever done 42 sets on leg Day? Have you ever trained your legs for 3 hours till you could not walk and start cramping because all your electrolyte are low?
I am not where I want to be but this picture tells me if you really work hard every day you will get there.
Your hard work will pay off one day as long as you stay consistent and don't worry about small mistakes you make along the way cause small mistakes can always be fixed. Just don't f@cking give up.
