Sometimes, things are not what they seem. I try as much as I can to watch every episode of "Yukon Gold" on the Discovery Channel. Each show documents the daily activities of gold prospectors on the Yukon valley. Digging and selling gold, at $1700 an ounce. It's a very difficult but lucrative job. You should watch an episode one day, if you haven't yet. I particularly follow one who had lost his wife 2 years ago and he himself is battling a rare form of cancer. He had promised his wife to continue despite all else, as this was their dream together. Unfortunately, his prospecting has failed every gold season since. In the last episode, behind his jolly facade, he had compared his many futile attempts to find gold to, in his own words, "hitting my head against a wall, and keep coming back for more. When do you stop banging your head? Till it starts bleeding?" Well, sometimes some people are so hurt already; and yet they can't find it in themselves to get out; or, maybe circumstances they're in prevents them from doing so. A prison in their own minds and bodies. Well, that could be you; that could be me. It could be anyone. So, be gentle with whoever you meet --- because, sadly, he or she may not be what they seem.
