This set, tied and shot by @secondfloor_fet, is probably the most "traditional Shibari" looking work we've done in a long time. Being that we aren't from Japan and aren't immersed in Japanese culture, everything we do will necessarily be a fusion since the way we tie is a reflection of ourselves and how we relate to the world around us. I'm also not a purist and I don't think that there is such a thing as "authentic Shibari". Your work is no more or less authentic because you learned to tie in a particular style or from a particular person. I believe the level of authenticity in your tying comes from how much of yourself you give in what you do, not how well you are able to copy what someone else does. And you will learn so much more by listening to yourself and your tying partner than you could ever learn from some big name rope artist. Education is important and you can absolutely learn from other folks but you must also find your own way.
For example, the chest harness in this tie is our original creation, but the teppou elements were incorporated using hojo cuffs, inspired from ties we learn learned long ago from @nawashikanna and Kagura.
This full set just went up on Patreon for $10 & up supporters
