Hagia Sion, Jerusalem ☀️ This beautiful building is just outside the walls of the Old City, and was originally a Byzantine Basilica built in the 5th Century. It's a Benedictine Abbey now.
If you look really closely, you can still see the bullet holes on the stonework, reminding us of the conflict Jerusalem has seen. In fact, the street you see on the left hand side of the photo is where the border between Israel and Jordan once was, and snipers would sit in the tower at the top 🌴
PS: Kaiser Wilhelm II once bought the patch of land Hagia Sion stands on... 🇩🇪 gets everywhere!
