What natural flavour do you add to your water?

I am an advocate of drinking a lot of water. Its a simple thing to do and has many benefits including minimising fatique and helping transport nutrients which in turn gives you energy.
If my hydration is not on point I notice the effects pretty quickly.
As much as I love water I often want something with flavour so use what I have available to infuse the water.

I am currently in Tuscany and my apartment is called Rosmarino which is Italian for Rosemary. Each of the apartments is named after a herb including Basilico, Rosmarino and Timo.
There is an abundance of Rosemary growing in the garden so I am using what I have at hand to flavour my water.
Just add the rosemary to water and leave overnight. I find it infuses better if I leave the water out of the fridge. Once the flavour has developed overnight, refrigerate if you prefer chilled water. I also have tomatoes, lemons

I am noticing a big difference in energy levels. My husband used to always say he couldn’t get me out in an evening and I never felt like I wanted to go anywhere as I didn’t have the energy. I now play 9 holes/go to driving range/out for an evening without feeling like I can’t be bothered. I used to suffer with chronic bloating and pain during the time of the month but am noticing a real difference with less bloating and pain beforehand.

I have never been very good at team sport and I used to dread PE lessons. My hand-eye-coordination and spatial awareness is not great so when I first started training I had low confidence about exercise in general. Now I really enjoy leading a healthy lifestyle and I love the way exercise makes me feel. I like setting goals for myself and achieve my personal best rather than compare myself to others. I will never be a brilliant athlete, however, I do like to stay active, work-out and follow a healthy diet as it has a positive impact on all areas of my life and makes me feel happier more energetic. The experience has been totally positive and I have become stronger, healthier, fitter and leaner as a result. Wishing for more time won’t make it appear. At every point in our lives, we give the time we do have to what matters in that moment. The same is true with money. Those are our priorities. -

Which local dish have you tried on your travels that you have enjoyed?

I like chilli, its "Real" food, its local and it tastes great. They belong to the capsicum family, the same as green peppers and are great sources of Vitamin A, B Complex and Vitamin C.
Pimientos de Padrón are a simple and popular starter in Mallorca.
The small green peppers are fried in olive oil and rock salt. Mostly they are sweet, but you'll find the occasional one with a punch of spice. I'll be enjoying these next week.

Can muscle turn into fat?

If you build muscle and don't use it then it turns into fat?
I have heard this myth and Its simply not true.
Muscle and fat are two completely different things. You build muscle through challenging resistance training through a process called "hypertrophy." If you stop challenging your muscles such as continuing with the same weights, in the same volume then you are likely to plateau, but if you stop resistance training altogether then your muscle mass becomes smaller which is called "Atrophy"
It doesn't turn into fat. *

What is your favourite recipe using dates?

Dates are in abudance in Dubai and "In Season" The dates from my "Date and Chocolate Protein Balls" were picked direct from a clients tree in her garden supporting food sustainability with zero food miles. This is rare in Dubai as we rely pretty heavily on import.

This morning I batched produced the recipe as its great for freezing and will have on hand "Real" food snacks ready to go.

What project are you currently working on?

Your Fitness and my fitness is a long term project. The journey doesn't end but the goals and targets change.
I am currently working on a 10K training programme along with a complementary strength and conditioning programme and its hard. Today I ache from a tough workout yesterday and I need to go for a 6KM run later today. I will do it because I've committed to my project but its easy for other things to get in the way.

I am travelling in 2 weeks and will need to keep my project on track so i'll be implementing many of the Food and Fitness on the Move strategies including utilising local produce and including some of the equipment free workouts.

What practical strategies are you implementing today? With many clients traveling at the moment it can seem that once out of your routine all the hard work that has been put in to your food and fitness is going to be lost and you will be back to where you started. As with any risk, there is always something at stake. In most instances, when it comes to your business, you stand to lose money, time and your reputation. Which are also the very same things you stand to gain! The benefits of taking risks will enrich your life and make it much more rewarding.

If we put the same theory into the context of your food and fitness, taking a risk and working with a food and fitness consultant may be an "investment" but its an investment in you and the rewards being that you get the opportunity to experience how good your body and mind is designed to feel and to be the best version of you. Is that a risk worth taking to you?
