All it takes is the right attitude.

On the right 220lbs at the peak of my bulk. At this time my diet was terrible I ate whatever I wanted and it showed in my conditioning. I was the strongest I ever was at this time benching 315+. However I could barely run a mile😂. Flash to a now at 187lbs I'm leaner and have built more muscle mass than ever while keeping most of my strength. No drugs no special fad diets no shortcuts just commitment and a great diet plan. I'm no where near where I want to be but I'm happy with the progress and I have 10 weeks to bring my best package to stage couldn't be more excited.

🌟🌟🌟#FORMFRIDAY 🌟🌟🌟LUNGE IT OUT

The lunge is one of the best ways to get your heart rate up like crazy in your work out IF you're doing it right! It works your quads, glutes, hamstrings and core👇🏼

✅ DO make sure you step into it with the correct width and depth - legs too far away and if you have tight hip flexors your body will shoot forward to compensate. .
.
✅ DO get lowwwww 👇🏼🍑 but not so low that your back knee touches the floor - that 1. Can be painful and 2. Is cheating. .
.
✅ DO keep your shoulders over your hips and core tight .
.
✅ DO keep your front thigh horizontal to the floor
.
.
✅ DO look straight ahead of you - this will keep your chest lifted and stop you wobbling!
.
.
✅ DO push through your front heel - this will switch on your glutes and make your bum peachy 🍑 and we all want a peachy bum... and strong glutes for injury prevention obvs 💁🏼

.
❌ DON'T make your step too small, this will cause you to not be able to achieve full range of movement (ROM) and full ROM = muscle gain 🙌🏼💪🏼

.
❌ DON'T shoot your front knee too far over your toe. .
.
❌ DON'T look down. You know when you're on your bike and you look to your side at pizza and you start steering towards it? Same goes with lunges - look down and your chest will fall forward. Look up and your chest will stay lifted 🍕

💡 If you're a beginner I recommend doing reverse lunges. It's good to start with 3 sets of 8/8 on each leg. As you progress move onto walking lunges which will test your stability more. .
.
💡 If you're more experienced in the gym I recommend the introduction of moderate dumbell weights in each hand while performing walking lunges. Go for 3 sets of 10/10 on each leg with 20 seconds rest. .
.
🔥Want something harder than that? Try supersetting walking dumbell lunges with your kettlebell squats. Perform 10/10 walking lunges and then go for 12 kettlebell squats. Repeat this 3 times and your legs will be burning! .

2️⃣Rope Facepulls
️❗️technique tip❗️
⭕️imagine pulling the rope apart as you pull towards your face.
⭕️try to externally rotate the rope which will help maximise rear delt activation

Another little diet hack for when you get those sugar cravings and don't want to waste the calories. Dieting really is just about picking smart choices to help you through and still feel human whilst continuing achieving the results you want. It doesn't need to be difficult, consistency is key.

Can you REALLY feel the muscle you are trying to train?
Can you keep the muscle you are targeting under constant tension throughout the movement or do you just move a weight/handle from A➡️B?

If you can't say yes to both those questions I really recommend you drop the weight right down and take a closer look at your technique. If you get these right it will really show in your results 💪🏻

To continue to build muscle one must work from all angles including having the muscle in a fully lengthened or fully contracted position. Here is a bicep exercise from a lengthened position. The opposite, a contracted position would be incline curls.
Try it out! Pause and squeeze hard at the top, and try not to move the elbow much. You may have to lighten the weight. The pump will feel deeper than usual, like there is a tennis ball inside your upper arm!

Make sure you get full range of motion. Often times that can be because either not adjusting the arms to allow full ROM or you're working with too much weight to effectively move it. It's all about the stretch

Yes I realize that I'm not typically sitting/using this machine as intended,but some rules are made to be broken right?? 😂😂 For those of you new to the gym, this machine is called the "Hammer Strength High Row"

How to use it? You are suppose to sit facing the pad and press your chest against it to stabilize you as you row. The starting position is up high, so even for the tallest person, you have to grab on to the handles and then seat yourself.
.
I'm using this machine to do "Single Lat Pull Downs" to really focus on isolating my lats. My biceps get a little workout too!
.
Notice I get the full contraction by pulling all the way down, and I keep the tension in my lats by going only half way up, not completely extending your arm out on the way up!
