A couple months ago I got a bad injury from this trick.. I haven’t trained that much lately because of it but after last few weeks of strength training it’s has gotten a lot better so you WILL see me In the gym going hard soon.

Do you know why a Split Handstand position is easier to hold for long periods of time?

Let’s see why.
•••
👉🏽In a VERTICAL handstand, you have a small range of motion to balance in. If you're wanting to hold this position for an extended period of time, you'll need to maintain a perfectly stacked, perfectly balanced position, which is not easy to do.
.
Once you lose balance, there is no saving it. You will fall.
•••
👉🏽In a SPLIT handstand, you've got a larger range of motion to play with. You will be able to balance much easier, for longer periods of time.
.
You have the ability to use your legs like a tight-rope-walker uses a pole: moving them back & forth, bending & straightening them, to help maintain balance.
.
The catch? You need to work on your flexibility. The larger your split, the more range of motion you have to balance in, and the easier your handstand will be.

Handstand Walking is all about how well you can control your center of gravity.
•••
Center of gravity: the heaviest part of your body— hips, glutes, quads. Where your center of gravity goes, the rest of your body will follow.

Mass moves mass.
•••
Example: When you walk on two feet, you shift your weight back and forth, over each foot with each step. Distributing your body weight fully to one side, allows you to pick up your second foot, and step it forward, without falling over.
•••
The same principle of shifting your weight applies to the handstand walk. But, wait... you're having trouble figuring out how to shift your weight from side to side? 🌟Grab a plate🌟

Keys to a successful drill:
.
👉🏽Shift hips fully over each planted hand before picking up the second hand.
.
👉🏽Extend the shoulder of your planted hand into your ear, as if to push the floor away each each rep.
.
👉🏽Straddling your legs will allow you to cover more surface area on the wall, helping you to stabilize and control your movement.
