When I say that everything hurts right now, I bloody well mean everything hurts. Had a few good training days and it feels nice to get back in! I definitely do not miss these doms though haha🔥🔥

Although I've been staying active i.e making sure I hit 20,000 steps a day and 60 active minutes on my Fitbit, I haven't been fully training for the past few weeks🤷🏻‍♀️
I have no excuse other than that it really hasn't been a priority for me👌🏼
I know many people who'll disagree with me on this, but sometimes you have to sacrifice the things you 'should' be doing for the things you 'need' to be doing. I personally needed the extra mental energy to look after myself mentally and my business. Know when you've been working hard, acknowledge that sometimes our bodies, minds and lives just need a little rest🧚🏻‍♀️

Caveman again tonight at @gymboxofficial Stratford. This class has been a long standing fave of mine and has always had a strong consistency of members turning up each and every week! Its very often over subscribed but there are the few odd weeks where it's a little quieter. Think heavy lifting with general 'functional' movements, incorporating a good mix of grip, leg and upper body strength such as variants of rope climbs or tyre flips, then match it with bodyweight based moves with your team as you swap between both sides. I stick in exercises that are lacking in other classes I teach to pick up the ability and strength needed for them.

Push Workout ➡️ target the chest, shoulders and triceps. All very important for feeling good and also having a healthy posture

In exercise 1/ Overhead Press you can actually see how I over-use my upper traps and push my shoulders up to my ears (with it being the first rep 🤷‍♀️) after that I try correct this and keep my shoulder blades down. I also keep my knees soft and my core super, super tight. You should be in a ‘straight line’ when the bar is above your head not sticking your butt out.

I like a lot of bodyweight training for upper as above anything I want my upper body to be strong. I haven’t focused on chest properly for a while and was way weaker in this superset (exercise 2 + 3, no rest in between) but I intend to get super strong and a ‘complex’ training systems like this will do just that 💪🏻

Finally some simple shoulder conditioning exercises for everyone: a single arm over head press with split stance to target my stability/balance. Keeping the DB our a bit wider than my shoulder again to avoid the upper-traps kicking in too much. And a simple front and side raise for that nice cap 👌🏻

Always striving to be better... mixed up my lat pulldown variations in my back workout by using two single cables, really good to see which side is weaker and make the muscles work independently at the same time. Also decided to plant my bum rather than kneel so that I could lean back slightly and get more leverage to lift heavier.
