I made a compromise with my husband to have pizza tonight for dinner. He's been wanting it for weeks and of course I love pizza! 😍 We decided to eat dinner in bed and watch House of Cards. .

It's such a comforting feeling to not have that overwhelming anxiety of having to get up for work tomorrow and dread my Sunday night because Monday was coming. Now Sunday's are just like any other day...but one of my favorite days of the week!

I never thought I'd be someone that got to experience that feeling of comfort. .

My current mood after church today...I'm exhausted for some reason! πŸ€— I'm gonna allow myself to take a day of rest so I can recharge for the week ahead. I haven't been as consistent with my routine lately...I honestly think I was burnt out. It happens to all of us. After months and months of very limited cheats, working out 6 days a week, and staying consistent as possible, I just needed a break...both physically and mentally. .

I've made a promise to myself to get back on track and it starts tomorrow! But first,☝🏼️a nap lol πŸ’€

I love sweet potatoes...they're my all time fav! 😍😍 I altered my usual recipe by slicing them into rounds, added some EVOO, pink salt, pepper, and thyme. I baked them for 30 minutes at 425. .

SO YUMMY and healthy!!!! .

This was my favorite move from my workout 8x8 today! I'm using a bar, but you can use dumbbells of you want. Do 8 reps, set the bar down, then repeat for a total of 3 sets. πŸ’ͺ🏼

Trying out something new today as I practice my squats from my living room. πŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ’ͺ🏼 I grabbed my laptop and got in an AWESOME 24 minute weight lifting workout. I needed something quick and effective for my full schedule today...I would have been SO EASY to skip, but you don't reach your goals by giving yourself a pass. Consistency and convenience is KEY! .

Taking a small time out from sitting at my computer this morning because my anxiety seems to be on overdrive...I was in full on work mode too! 😳 Whenever I feel like this, I've found that it's just best to step away for 10 minutes, take a few deep breaths, listen to some music and clear my head. .

Over the years my anxiety has gotten so much better because I've learned to stay healthy, remain positive, and find ways to manage my stress that works for me. I've accepted that there's no way I can do everything and be perfect. I'm a recovering perfectionist and it takes discipline and the right mindset every single day. .

Don't be afraid to take a few minutes for yourself when feeling overwhelmed. . {Cute dog snuggles help too!} πŸ’•

Took every ounce of motivation for me to get up and get my workout in. It's not always easy to stay consistent but you don't want to undo hard work and whatever mountain you're climbing, keep going. .

I'm so thankful for my home workouts on days like this...more than ever. I can get it over with pretty quickly and I feel so much better. 😜πŸ’ͺ🏼 Back to the couch in 30 min!πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ Your greatest competition will always be that person staring back at you in the mirror.

Enjoying some down time with the windows open in my comfy clothes. I tried to do my workout today and I just wasn't feeling it. Sometimes you just gotta listen to your body and give yourself permission to take an extra day or two off.

Most people who take medication for #hypothyroidism still have all the annoying symptoms, including weight gain. This is because medication does NOT help CHANGE the symptoms and this leads to people thinking they need to work out harder because what they've been eating and the way they've been working out isn't working anymore. .

BUT☝🏼️here's the deal...slow thyroid function leads to slow metabolic function, so that's why it seems like out of nowhere you're gaining weight when nothing has changed. That's why so many people are desperate to do cardio. But hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, and Hashimoto's are exasperated by stress...meaning you can give yourself hypothyroidism by too much stress! 😳 And guess what? Cardio is an added STRESSOR! So, as you can see, it makes things worse. .

A lot of people are doing cardio because they want to burn calories to get the extra weight off that they've unexpectedly put on, but what they don't understand is that it's actually making it much worse...almost to the point of making it impossible for your body to let go of the fat. .

Here's what I want you to do: .
1️⃣ Short bursts of exercise (I never work out for more than 30 min) .
2️⃣ Focus on STRENGTH not calories. Get strong. More muscle = less fat .
3️⃣ Burn more calories with no exertion exercise like standing while you work and walking wherever you can .
4️⃣ Stop doing so much cardio!!! .
