Super Easy Gluten-Free (because I'm sensitive😂) Muffins!

INGREDIENTS:
2 large browned bananas
1 cup nut butter of choice
2 eggs
1/4 cup honey
4 tbsp protein powder (I used Quest Banana Creme)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking power
1/4 cup chopped walnuts .

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat over to 400 F
Mash bananas
Mix in all other ingredients and stir until batter is smooth
Spray muffin tin with non-stick spray
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Zac posing with his ears folded up! 🤗 Did you know owning a dog has massive benefits to your gut microbiome? It means you will have more exposure to bacteria - that is a good thing btw! It is so important that we build up our gut flora which will create the foundations of a hardy immune system. Remember playing in the garden when you were a toddler eating mud pies and whatever else you could find on the floor to put in your mouth?! Over sanitising, anti-bacterial wipes, hand gels and the (nearly always) unnecessary, inappropriate use of antibiotics is wiping out our good bacteria (building blocks of our immune system) in a matter of days and leaving us wide open to an infection or virus that comes our way, only for us to be rendered weaker at fighting it off. Antibacterial soap is not going to protect you from catching a cold, build up your immune system from within. Things you can do to care for your gut microbiome: eat raw fermented foods, probiotics (through diet or supplements), use gentle,eco-friendly soaps and household cleaning products, keep away from products that contain harsh chemicals, get a pet, get into nature and get some earth on your hands! Weird photo, true, but... I have to say, smoothies are the key to good mornings in my world. I didn’t have them regularly for about 6 months and my health suffered. Several colds, sinus infection and rather acute gastroenteritis. I have had one/two every day for 5 days again and feel the benefits already; much more energy, less gut discomfort. “DO IT!! Haven't posted in a couple of days, besides the insane workload on my plate I strained my hamstring on Monday ☹️😭 and am trying to figure out how to avoid tearing it. So posting has lacked but still going strong with my diet! Definitely battled the urge to splurge and have some not so healthy foods but what kept me going is how important diet can be in healing the body quickly! 🌱 Dinner today is a clean out the fridge party: romaine lettuce, shredded kale, cabbage, and broccoli stalks topped with roasted carrots and sweet potato, raw bell peppers, and scallions topped with a homemade vinaigrette 😋🍴🥗

✨Don’t mind me, just TOTALLY NERDING OUT and owning just how big of a DIGESTION ENTHUSIAST I am. 🤓 Treated myself to a @myviome test at the @bulletproof conference this weekend! This morning included a stool test 💩✅ (this one was way simpler than my last) and a blood glucose measurement series 💉🍭✅. Didn't have any obligations until 8am but my morning started at 4:30am 🤸🏽‍♀️ No I don't wake up with that much energy but it's important to get "me" time in before anyone needs anything from me. That time usually consists of going to a yoga class, cooking for the day, studying nutrition and sports, and sometimes just cuddling and wrestling with my pup! 🐶 Make sure you fit in some "me time" everyday or you'll go nuts 😳😭😤 at some point ❤️

Lunch 🙌🏽 For those of y'all who say you don't have time to prep food, listen up! I'm determined to stick with this meal plan but decided to squeeze in a nap before work and forgot to prep lunch. 😴The lunch option for today was brown rice, raw kale and cabbage, topped with spice roasted chickpeas. Now there was no way I was going to have time to wait for brown rice and roasted chickpeas to cook 🙅🏽I opened a can of garbanzo beans, rinsed them and sprinkled them with turmeric, paprika, and garlic powder. Threw em in Tupperware and ran out the door 🏃🏽‍♀️. Went straight to Trader Joe's and within 5 min I was in and out with a bag of kale/cabbage/broccoli slaw (how convenient!), frozen microwaveable brown rice, an avocado and a lemon. Got to work and spent exactly 3 minutes making this amazing meal 😋. #noexcuses

So I've been wanting to try a food elimination diet for a while because I've got a strong sense of being allergic to dairy and wheat. Have been reading an awesome book about digestive health and at the end there is a 10 day plan to heal the gut...guess who's trying it 🙋🏾For the next 10 days I'll be eliminating 6 common food allergens and belly bloating foods from my diet.
