I can't begin to describe my awe and appreciation for this mural by #GuidoVanHelten. 160 foot tall painting of #LeeEstes, a 91 year old man that has lived his whole life in the Nations, a neighborhood in West Nashville that I spent a majority of my childhood growing up in. I went to daycare at St. Luke's down the street and My father worked at a factory on this exact block for many years. This is a very industrial neighborhood that has since evolved from the ever growing gentrification that has been rapidly spreading in this city. The artist painted two little boys he met in the neighborhood as a nod to the future, next to the incredible old man reacting to the present day world he lives in.
The sheer scale of this is mind blowing and I am so happy and moved to have seen this by surprise on my current visit. #Nashville
