Njardarheimr, Viking village in Gudvangen, Sogn og Fjordane.
The reconstruction of the village, using mostly local materials, started in 2016 and they're still working on more buildings, and planning to have people living there all year round. The name "Njardarheimr" means "the home dedicated to Njord". From the village you have breathtaking views of Nærøyfjord, listed as one of the UNESCO world heritage sites, and you can have amazing hikes around the area and its nature reserve. Unfortunately we arrived just a few days after the yearly Market that takes place in the village, so we sadly missed it.
