‘Correos y Telégrafos’ Building

The Historic Center of Guatemala city has many beautiful buildings and the post office is one of the most famous of the area. Its contruction began in September 14th, 1938, during the dictatorship of the general Jorge Ubico and it was designed by Rafael Pérez de León and Enrique Riera. The main attraction of the architectural complex is its arch, which is formed by 5 small arches that may be related with the 5 letters that conform the last name 'Ubico'.
