Hey buddy!!! I'm super proud of this little guy so expect a few more photos... ;) Here's the project description mcmaster_robots wrote-up that I used in the last post. It credits all involved with this build.
"I had a little over two months to build R3-A3 from the Star Wars Rebels episode "Iron Squadron". It took several weeks to collect parts, and the actual build happened over five weeks.
While I was building the droid, @themikesenna was constructing the hardware interface for Watson as well as write the custom code.
@gordontarpley created several detail parts, did some fiberglass modifications to the dome and one foot shell, and completed the entire paint job, which came out beautifully.
Several parts came from parts suppliers within the builders club, including Daren Murrer, Michael Wheeler, Doug Dobyns and Michael Velcheck. Johnathan Andres provided the beautiful R4 dome as well as the foot shells.
Thanks to everyone who participated....I could not have built the droid so quickly without your help!" #ScienceAndStarWars #R3A3 #StarWars #StarWarsRebels #Rebels #IBM #watson #droid #astromech #R3 #prop #propbuilding #McMaster_Robots #GTprops #MakersNotFakers #moldmaking #weathering #lucasfilm #lfl
